Meet Our Staff
Here at Mt. Elon Baptist Church we believe that Jesus loves people and it is our mission to do the same! We have assembled a staff who believes that people are a priority and that showing them a Christ-like love is paramount. So, we'd love for you to get to know the people who lead our church on the weekends and throughout the week.
Rob brazell
Position: Lead Pastor
Rob came to Mt. Elon in May 2009 after he and his wife sensed God calling them to reach out to Darlington and Lee Counties. Rob has served on church staffs since 2004 in various capacities including children minister, student minister, associate pastor, and senior pastor. Rob and Lindsay have been married since 2004 and have two children, Noah and Zana.
After graduation from Lugoff-Elgin High, Rob attended North Greenville University playing football for the Crusaders. After graduation from NGU with a degree in Christian Ministry, Rob attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He obtained a Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages.
Rob's favorite food is Mexican, but he loves taking a road trip in order to find a new "hole in the wall." When Rob is not preaching you can find him on the football field or baseball field coaching the next generations rising stars. It's also not hard to convince him to take a hunting or fishing trip and spend a little time with "the guys".
His favorite passage of Scripture is Joshua 24:15. He is thankful God called him to lead the congregation of Mt. Elon Baptist Church.
Lanie Tiller
Position: Youth/Outreach
I felt the Lord calling me to serve at Mt Elon in 2021. I was drawn to Mt Elon because of its welcoming “laid back” atmosphere! Life is hectic, church shouldn’t be! I am excited to be serving the youth and communities surrounding Mt Elon. It is my goal to make them all feel accepted, loved, and a part of something special. My deepest desire is that they not only come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, but they will fall in love with Him.
I felt a call into ministry in 2016 and entered into New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary seeking a degree in Christian Ministry and will graduate in the spring of 2021! I have served on church staff since 2017 as Children’s minister.
I am a native to Hartsville and married my high school sweetheart, Phillip, in 2006. We have two rambunctious boys, Boyd and Cooper. When I am not at the church, you can find me hanging with my boys, a gym date with the girls, or diving into a bowl of cheese dip at the Mexican restaurant.
My favorite chapter of the Bible is Proverbs 16 which always offers me a “nugget” of truth when I need it. It includes my favorite verse, Proverbs 16:3, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed”.
I can’t wait to see the BIG things the Lord has in store for Mt. Elon Baptist church!
